I had a PCMCIA ethernet card and contemplated getting another (I sold the other one back in 2002) on eBay when a thought came to me; Would the 1200 be able to use a PCMCIA 802.11b wireless network card. A little bit of digging found this site.

After reading the documentation for the prism2 driver found on Aminet, I went over to eBay and started searching. I found a Nokia C110 which according to the compatibility list should work. I won the auction as the only bidder of US$0.99.

I'm looking to install OS 3.9 and will need a CD-ROM drive. The thought of one in an external case is downright bile-raising. It thwarts the integrity and the ideal of the 1200's design. I found some references (I'll add the link when I find it again) to mounting a laptop CD drive internally. So I searched eBay for the bits and pieces I needed. Unfortunately, a single converter/cable doesn't exist. To go from 44pin IDE to the CD drive's JAE interface I need 4 separate bits.

Everything is ordered. The waiting begins.

The Decision Has Been Made

<dc:subject>Amiga Project</dc:subject>

I went through my closet in my study and pulled out all my collected Amiga gear (mostly Amiga 1200s) as I've decided to build an Amiga 1200 (or two) to recapture the magic.

I discovered an Amiga podcast over at www.amigaz.org.
